EXPERIENCED LEADER

Ron Jones has more years of experience as a DSISD Trustee than the other two candidates combined. Ron has already navigated the challenges of a fast-growth district: during his 9 years as Trustee (2014-2023), DSISD enrollment grew by over 60%, necessitating the construction of three new campuses and other significant capital projects. On the dais, Ron has consistently demonstrated his strong knowledge of public school policy and worked to center board decision-making on student success. In addition to his DSISD Board service, Ron has served with various other organizations:
  • Friends of Texas Public Schools Board
  • ESC 13 Foundation Board
  • DS Education Foundation Advisory
  • Burke Foundation
  • Dripping Springs Water Company

STRONG ADVOCATE

It’s no secret that public education has become a political battleground. Ron is not afraid to vocally and actively advocate for public schools. Whether the topic is school vouchers, recapture, teacher pay, standardized testing, or workforce readiness, Ron does not shy away from doing the legwork. Putting students and the school community above politics, he proudly supports public schools through his leadership and participation with various pro-public education organizations like Friends of Texas Public Schools.

DRIPPING SPRINGS ROOTS

As a 25-year resident of Dripping Springs, Ron Jones has a deeply rooted connection to the history and legacy of our cherished small town. DSISD is what drew his family to the area, and his own sons are products of Dripping Springs public schools. No other candidate is as familiar with the history and tradition of old Drip, making Ron uniquely qualified to guide how DSISD can honor the past while taking on the future.

RON'S PRIORITIES

Responding to Growth

Dripping Springs ISD needs to address growth with common sense solutions. Investment in facilities must be balanced with transparency and accountability to the community.

Focus on Academic Progression

The primary reasons most people move to Dripping Springs is because of the public schools. We need to maintain that superior public school experience our stakeholders deserve and expect.

Advocating for DSISD

Trustees must speak up for the best interests of our school district. My years of experience in education give me the skills and experience to advocate for ALL students, staff, and community.
